The organization was offering free lunches to clients of the shelter as well as members of the public who donated a coat during the coat drive. More than 100 coats were distributed Thursday.

Ashley Lord, a University of Arkansas student, inches up a climbing wall Tuesday at the HPER Building in Fayetteville during a Ladies Night event. The event continues from noon to 2 p.m. today with a wellness fair, lunch, seminars on women’s health, climbing techniques, bicycle tours of Fayetteville’s trail system and drawings for prizes. The event is open to all UA students, faculty and staff.

Jeff Clardy, longtime owner of Clardy’s Cobbler Shoppes, has raised nearly $100,000 over the past week and has been approved for a heart transplant, he said Wednesday. He said he is overwhelmed by the support of his community and church.
