John Robert Hart of Prairie Grove makes his living raising Cornish game hens for Tyson Foods, in addition to operating a small dairy farm. He and other local Cornish hen growers in this region have less to do lately as slumping consumer demand prompted production cuts in the specialty poultry product.

Stitt Energy Systems has been LEED certified to the platinum level under the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design rating system for its addition and renovation project at 1301 S. Eighth St. in Rogers. Only 212 commercial buildings in the world have been certified LEED platinum, which is the highest certification level possible. The renovation process was very extensive. The original building, built in 1946, was deconstructed down to the supporting structure. More than 75 percent of that structure was saved, and the renovation added about 1,200 square feet.
